Home Coming (2013)
Mixed media installation
Constructed from glowing rope lights that mimic an airport runway, this installation charts a symbolic voyage back home.
Along the path rests a series of double-sided frames; when flipped by participants, the reverse side reveals the same images now embedded with a self-illuminating wooden cross woven from EL wire. This hidden layer serves as a quiet testament that the divine accompanies us through every expanse if we are willing to look.
At the runway’s end, a taxiway-style light box glows with the cryptic letters "RE," guiding the audience toward an unwritten sanctuary left to their imagination: Rest? Refreshment? or an unspoken Return of.... ?
