The Crown (2013)

This installation reinterprets the crown of thorns through the glowing filaments of traditional Christmas lights—a medium originally created to celebrate the birth and arrival of Christ. 

By using celebratory lights to form an instrument of suffering, the piece bridges the mystery of the nativity with the gravity of the crucifixion.
